ALL FOR ONE! ONE FOR ALL! GROUP FORMING:
Okay, I just got the word that there are NO MORE ARTIST ALLEY TABLES at the 2007 Comic-Con avaiable, and that there are 250 COMPANIES awaiting booth space at Comic-Con.
So, turns out even though I'm on the waiting list, waiting was a bad idea.
Booths for Comic-Con this year were only $1800 (us dollars), so with five or more people sharing a booth and selling all the interested parties stuff, the booth is likely the best way to assure attendance and marketing at Comic-Con.
Given that, I'd like to start assembling a group to appear at the 2008 Comic-Con. Yes, it's early. Yes, It's more than a year away. Yes, you don't know me, but hey! We have a year, okay?
Primarily, I'd like the group to discuss working together for marketing, merchandising and possible publications. Going to Cons! and sharing the costs would be my number one reason for assembling this group. Interested? Then, read on below and let's talk turkey.
Planning early in business I think proves valuable. So, my first thoughts are:
1) Come up with a name (THE LEGION OF WEBCOMICKERS!) What?! L.O.W.? Are you kidding? Okay, you come up with something better and we'll do it.
2) Start planning an on-line Gorilla marketing scheme to push the buzz for this group to get maximum exposure before and leading up to Comic-Con!
More thoughts, and members welcome. Let's talk and let's do it here!
Cheers!
