Wow.. I really feel remiss in not mentioning Planet Karen in this thread before now.
PK is a great comic and the diary of its creator, Karen Ellis of Bristol, England. She has a wonderful, quirky view of life and in her charming Goth sort of way, I think we could be fast friends.
She wrote the foreward to the Wireheads' Book and has already put out 500 strips in the same amount of time that I've done 172. Of course, she did actually do an ENTIRE YEAR of daily strips. Let me say that again. She made a strip EVERY DAY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!!!

Go visit her. Quite wonderful and a good artist as well.
